The Navy Entomology Center of Excellence (NECE) at NAS Jacksonville participated with other military services and public health agencies to evaluate aerial spraying techniques Oct. 29-30 in order to control the mosquito that transmits dengue fever and yellow fever to humans in urban settings.

"In addition to USDA, we're collaborating with the Air Force 757th Airlift Squadron, and Florida National Guard's Camp Blanding Joint Training Center to evaluate aerial techniques of controlling the Aedes aegypti mosquito in urban settings," said NECE Officer in Charge Capt. Eric Hoffman.

Air Force entomologists tested nozzle configurations for different size droplets that were sprayed from the C-130H aircraft.
